The Deosai Lake or the Sheosar (Blind lake) is located in the western part of Skardu district at an elevations of 4,142 meters, in the heart of the Deosai plains in Gilgit-Baltistan. Below are some photos of the delightful and scenic beauty of the lake.
1. Deosai is famous for its various kinds of flowers that adorn parts if it throughout spring and summers.
2. The area surrounding the lake is pretty much hilly, as the evirons of lake are escorted by small hills.
3. The depth of the lake is not more than 40m and it is 2.3km longs and 1.8km wide.
4. The area remains covered under snow during winters.5. Around the lake the endangered brown bears are usually seen.
6. The pleateau of Deosai is extended to an area of 3000sq. miles.
7. Sheosar lake is considered one of the highest elevated lakes.
8. The Himalyan marmots are also found in the Deosai plains.
